"If I, and I suspect the majority of the decent people still on here, had discovered this site today would we have signed up? Probably not."
____________________

You seem to have forgotten the "good old days". When I signed up, in about 2000, I didn't really understand the site's ethos and was severely cunted off after what I thought was a most helpful and polite first contribution. I didn't post again for ages, but did read.

WHO is pretty much the same as it's always been for its collection of wankers and idiotic comments. And we're ALL guilty of being idiots and posting crap at some time or another. With the exception of yours truly, of course.

If you want the site to improve, start a thread to improve it.

If doing so is beyond you, then either shut the fuck up or fuck off, but prove you're grown up by at least making a decision and sticking to it.

There is a bracket of weirdness into which most WHOers fit. The rest go to KUMB and the BBC.

Re: This website must represent about 0.001 of West Ham United supporters
I am not bored by or disgusted with the site. So why would I leave? I think It's a bloody good laugh. I enjoy it.

There are people on here expressing very strong feelings of resentment and disgust about WHO, yet are still here, moaning. Why? Surely this is warped behaviour? Far weirder than the behaviour of the rest of us.

''If it reached the point where I was bored or DISGUSTED with it (like poor old Banjo) I expect I would just bugger off and not come back''

But you wouldn't would you. At least you used the word 'expect' because you know that you are addicted to this site.

Re: This website must represent about 0.001 of West Ham United supporters
Well yes, it Is the same old shit day in, day out. It's repetitive and circular. But most if us appear to enjoy it. Takes all sorts, doesn't it? If it reached the point where I was bored or DISGUSTED with it (like poor old Banjo) I expect I would just bugger off and not come back. To carry on reading and posting on a site I was bored with or DISGUSTED BY would be weird.

Maybe everyone should meet and them if anyone feels that strongly fight it out. But I feel with all the power put into pushing those keyboards most will be too exhausted to.

Re: This website must represent about 0.001 of West Ham United supporters
The 'quality' of an Internet forum is subjective, depending on what the reader wants from it.
Whilst I find certain posters tedious, others bizarre, and one or two downright offensive, it doesn't impact on my life in 3D so I take it for what it is.
That is, a source of debate, information (sometimes accurate) and entertainment.

As for Private Claret, I find him to be a strange beast. A barbed comment can wash over him like water off a duck's back, whereas an innocuous quip can provoke threats of extreme violence.
Thinking about it, I reckon 'he' may actually be a she. His/her moods are all over the fucking place.

Re: This website must represent about 0.001 of West Ham United supporters
This site has always had cliques, pitched battles and what some precious little petals would regard as bullying. Remember the spiteful arguments between AMoCS, Justin R, Ald Gandhi and StR? Some of it spilled over into real life with a poster making a serious attempt to get another poster sacked from his job. What goes on on WHO these days is child's play and handbags in comparison.

When were these halcyon days of pots of tea, cucumber sandwiches, and polite chat the softies keep referring to? I don't recall them.

Whenever people moan about this site, the exit door is always pointed out to them, but so few take the hint.

The softies are clearly willing gimps.
